Customer Reviews

This is a great little dryer for small spaces. You don't need a vent for this little electric dryer, but it does need to be about 4 inches away from the wall for the hot air exhaust to function properly. The dryer isn't really noisy but it does sound like an AC running; after a while it fades into background noise. There are only two settings: Soft and Normal. These functions adjust the heat setting. The dryer also uses a timer setting like a toaster oven and ranges from 10-160 min. of dry time. The drum is small and the manual recommends only 2.8 lbs of clothes. This is about the equivalent of two towels or a change of clothes. I gave this a three stars rating because the dryer setting is not as hot which means you may have to run it a little longer for desired results. Also the door reminds me of doll house plastic; it's flimsy so be careful with it, and sometimes annoying when trying to close. I also gave it three stars because the price could have been a little lower based on its performance. None of these things are major problems but it is enough to lower the rating. It's about the size of a 19" TV (not a digital flat screen...think older model). It can be wall mounted with brackets but you'll have to purchase those because they aren't included. The outside stays cool to the touch. Overall, for such a small dryer it does a decent job.

I ordered this little compact countertop dryer to use in my little compact travel trailer. because I need to move into it full-time and still work in an office full-time -- I didn't want to have to spend a lot of time in laundromats again if I could avoid it. Well, it weighs only 40 pounds and has handles on the sides, so it is easy for this 5-1/2 foot tall woman to pick up and move around -- I mean that. It is 19-inches tall and 19-inches wide and 11-inches deep. I will be able to tuck it away very well when not in use and it takes up little countertop space while in use. It uses standard 110 electric. It is made in China and some of the labels for the indicator lights are not in English. The most totally alien word is on the power light; if that light is not on, you have not turned the timer dial to "on;" that's all you really need to know about that light. The controls are simple enough to figure out no matter what language you speak. It has timed drying only and a warm and hot dryer temp setting (they call it "hard" and "soft"). I dried three loads of clothes in it last night. A load that would dry adequately consisted of two pairs of what I call "office pants" (maybe you would call them dress pants), two office shirts, and two full sets of underwear. For me, that is good; I won't have to do my laundry every day if I can do two sets of work clothes in one drying session. If the dryer is cold, has not been used yet, it takes a good 20 minutes for the air coming out of the vent in back to get hot. If you are on your second or third drying load, then it is hot right away. The load I described, which had been run through the extraction spin cycle of a regular washer, took about 45 minutes to dry very nicely. If you put too much in, like any other dryer, the load will take longer to dry. If the clothes are heavier clothes (like jeans, t-shirts, towels), they hold more water and will take a LOT longer to dry. You might want to hang those out to dry in the sun, or you will have to dry them for quite a while in this dryer, and only one towel at a time, one pair of jeans at a time, etc. The timer goes up to two hours, so I guess some people do run it for that long for those waterlogged clothes. The door latching mechanism is probably going to be a problem in the future. It is tricky to get it to latch securely, and it is cheaply made; I expect that in the future, I will have to use duct tape to keep the door closed. Like most dryers, the door has a piece that has to fit into a sensor hole to signal that the door is securely closed before the dryer will run, so that is why the duct tape may become necessary. The lint filter inside the tub supposedly can be pulled out to clean out the lint; it is shaped round and has what looks like a hubcap type grill in front of it; I have not figured out how to pull it out or pull the grill out to get at it to clean it. The directions are in the usual badly translated chinese to english, and while it tells me I need to clean the lint filter (and that the filter can be washed and re-used), they forgot to tell me how to get the darned thing out of the tub. If anyone figures it out after reading this, please let me know! It is really quiet when it runs. I was very surprised. And it doesn't bounce around on the countertop. While I expect the latch will be a future problem and the lint filter has not yet been figured out, I really like this little dryer I hope it lasts several years if I am nice to it. I am amazed at how small it is, how well it fits in my little travel trailer (or in a little studio apartment or a dorm room or any other RV or a little cabin or your treehouse), and how well it works if you watch your load size and type! I am actually charmed by it, if one can be charmed by a mini dryer! If it wasn't for the cheapness and break potential of the latch, I would have given this a five star rating. It also is very economical energy use wise, which your pocket book and the planet ecosystem will appreciate. The short video was shot while it was running, and you can barely hear it; the only reason you can hear anything is probably because I had it sitting on my home dryer which has a metal top. Even then, it wss incredibly quiet. That's my review; someone get back to me and let me know how to properly pull out the lint filter please! And enjoy this cute little dryer, if it will fit your needs! I hope you find this review useful in making your purchasing decision; I told you everything I would have wanted to know if I was buying this.
